Smudging is the sacred act of burning special herbs to create a cleansing smoke bath that is used to purify people, ceremonial tools, objects, your home, or healing space.

In this virtual workshop Shannon will offer explanation and demonstration of how to use a simple smudge using the herbal sacred plants of sage, essential oil of sage, palo santo stick, palo santo essential oil and Sweetgrass.

We will also learn about the earth, water, fire, and air direction tools we use in traditional Native American smudging. You will also learn about honoring the winged ones, with a demonstration on how to dress a feather (customize & decorate it) to honor its energy and spirit. This personalizes the feather with your own sacred energy medicine.

At the end of this virtual class, Shannon will be offering an opportunity to purchase a “dress your own feather” tool kit. Included in this kit will be a variety of feathers, leather wrap, and a leather weaving strap.

Kits are $30 and will be paid directly to Shannon. Kits will be available for pick up within the week after this class ends at SoderWorld location. If you would like your kit mailed to you, shipping fee’s will be added to the cost. (note: you will need your own craft glue or glue gun at home to complete the project)

About the Instructor:

With a joyful heart, Shannon Chada walks a path of integrating nature, culture and community to help others and empower self-healing of mind, body and spirit. Shannon is a Spiritual Holistic Minister and Practitioner of Full Circle Harmony Ministry with 20+ years experience as a Reiki Master Teacher, Reiki Practitioner, and Young Living Leader & Educator. 14+ years as a Certified Yoga Instructor (500hr level), Certified Emotional Release Technique Practitioner, and Certified Urban Zen Integrative Therapist. Through storytelling and craft Shannon will share the knowledge of smudging to honor the teachings gifted to her by her Anishinaabe Father, Larry ManyHats, of the Stockbridge Band of Mohicans Tribe. It is with deep reverence for the traditional ways learned from her family upbringing, Shannon is inspired to share these teachings that can benefit us all, with no judgement or discriminations of our diverse cultural backgrounds. It is her passion and calling to serve the community with respect, integrity and joyfulness so that we all can walk a path of Living In Harmony together.
